No place like home
I’m feeling a little weary..
As I write I am sitting in the dining room of a campsite in Geraldton. It is a privilege to be here, I have heard so much about this place since Fusion first started work here in the early 80′s.
I am here for Fusion Western Australia’s State Conference. It is my job to share a bit from the bible and do my best to encourage the team, which won’t be hard because they encourage me.. It is exciting to see what God is doing here.
As I sit here, and prepare my head and heart to engage with the team here I am reminded how helpful it is to go somewhere new and meet new people.
I love my home. I deeply love my family and I really prefer to sleep in my own bed, but I have noticed something happens when I go away for a bit..
I think new thoughts, I learn new things and somehow I see home more clearly.
Next week I am preparing to travel with my daughter to London, Albania and Poland. We are both very excited to be traveling together.. It will be the first time she has left Australia’s shores.
I hope that through the experience she too will be free to think new thoughts, see new things and see home more clearly.
It is absolutely true there is no place like home, but sometimes you need some distance to see why.
