Re-looking at the bible
We have just finished Fusion’s Foundations course here in Poatina. It was a very special time.
One of the highlights for me personally was leading a small group for the first time in quite a while.
Our small group finished with the Snyder Bible study method last night. It was a special time of reflection and sharing.The Snyder bible study method is centred around putting a passage of scripture in your own words and then sharing what would happen in your life if you took it seriously.
The job isn’t to look for textual accuracy but to find a way to express the passage as though you were the author…
Being that this is a blog about my Faith journey, I figured I would share what I came up with as a paraphrase of Philippians 4:4-7.
Hooray! God is here and is in charge. Relax into his arms and from that place of peace, enjoy others.
Don’t worry. It’s o.k.. He is carrying you.
Everything you need, everything your are worried about, everything you fear, is safe in His hands.
Don’t hold back. He wants you to ask him. He wants you to know He cares.
Let yourself hear this. Let yourself rest in this and let Him stand watch over your heart and all the chaotic thoughts which flood your soul.
It is o.k. and it will be o.k…….
