John Wesley’s commandos
Small groups of friends that changed the world
Last week I published a list of John Wesley’s small group questions.. they were pretty amazing and it was easy to see why the church grew if people were courageous enough to face questions like that each week.
This week I want to introduce you to another smaller list of questions that John Wesley had for a special group of very committed people. He organised those who really wanted to grow into bands. Single men with Single men. Married men with Married men. Single women with single women. Married women with Married women.
In groups of 6-8 called “bands” they would come together each week and ask each other these questions:
- What known sins have you committed since our last meeting?
- What temptations have you met with?
- How were you delivered?
- What have you thought, said, or done, of which you doubt whether it be sin or not?
- Have you nothing you desire to keep secret?
Imagine that!!
By the way if you want more information these lists are from:
